RBC announced today that it’s the first financial institution in North America to allow clients to send money to their Facebook friends. Using their electronic money transfer system, clients will be able to log into the RBC app and send money to people listed as their Facebook Messenger contacts.
The Facebook friend then receives a message in Messenger asking them to log into their financial institution to deposit the funds. RBC says the sender’s financial information won’t be shared with the recipient.
